Wisdom Of Mother Beauty

What are W.O.M.B. Grandmother’s Gatherings?
W.O.M.B. (Wisdom of Mother Beauty) is a grassroots movement
of the “Life-Givers” of our Mother Earth.

Our commitment is to hold gatherings, on Native land, with the permission of the Tribal, GrandMother, Elders of that Native land. 2009 was the 4th gathering. This project brings together both Indigenous and non-Indigenous women of all ages, from all around the world. Our intent is to create a safe environment, following Traditional protocols, to make it possible for the GrandMother Wisdom-Keepers to openly share their teachings, sacred songs, stories, prophesies and ceremonies, outside their Indigenous communities.

Our Goal
To create a safe environment for the exploration of Indigenous Identity through cultural teachings, communication through story telling and ancestral ceremony. To educate the “educated” by the example of the Sacred GrandMother Wisdom Keepers of Mother Earth. By their coming together they will strengthen cultural similarities to bring about an opportunity for open and respectful dialog that will nurture a peaceful humanity.

Project Needs
Many Indigenous women feel frustrated and isolated living in western society. They are faced with inferior educational and employment opportunities and find themselves living in substandard conditions and emotionally stressful environments. As a result, it is a challenge for many tribal women to learn and maintain their cultural lifestyles. These Traditional tools and Spiritual lessons are their “Keys” to keeping their heritage alive. Without their community support or strong family ties, these women find themselves confronted with cultural, phycological, spiritual and economic barriers. W.O.M.B. is committed to help bridge these barriers by giving these women an opportunity to be with other Indigenous “Women of Wisdom” that have walked in their life’s journey as a Native woman. We must walk forward together and mend our “Sacred Hoop of the Women Nation”.

Through this spiritual process, healing takes place for each individual woman and as a collective community, mending the Sacred Hoop of the Woman Nation. By honoring and respecting the “Beauty Ways” of our female energy (too many to list) we can help bring back balance to our Mother Earth and heal the wounds of her people; with one Voice, one Heart and one Chanupa. (Sacred Pipe of Peace).

W.O.M.B. Mission Statement
To preserve and protect Indigenous Identity by promoting cultural exchange and awareness of Indigenous Wisdom. To teach Spiritual Ecology with the intention of healing Mother Earth, humanity, and all living things through open communication, Traditional Ceremony, and the gathering of Sacred Elders , women, and youth.
